The Roger Vivier A/W 2021 Collection – A Review

Roger Vivier’s name is symbolic with elegance and class. For the A/W 2021 collection, the Creative Director, Gherardo Felloni gives us good reason to immerse ourselves in feel-good designer pieces as a way of moving on despite the pandemic. We might not be over the Summer just yet but Fall is speeding right behind us and we’re already selecting pieces for the season ahead. When going through the Roger Vivier A/W ‘21 collection we couldn’t pick just one favourite.

From the revival of the Mary Janes to to sleek back-to-work options, the collection strives to include pieces for everyone and especially for the modern woman living in todays time. The overall feel of the collection was very much in tune with the general vibe for Fall, with the Maison’s signature playful and feminine touches lending it a unique touch.

The palette is mostly warm featuring neutrals with some brighter options too. Materials range from patent leather to velvet and even tweed. It’s not your quintessential fall collection, and thats why we love it.

For some the Mary Janes might represent a simple, school-ish shoe design for kids. The shoe has become a staple in the wardrobe of trendy women since it’s inception and has been reinvented many times over the years. For Fall ‘21, Roger Vivier turns them into a classic piece that exudes charm and a preppy feel. They debut as the Trés Vivier Babies Ballerina and are available in velvet and leather with buckle options between metal and crystal. This simple design has been turned into a statement piece for your new season wardrobe. Another design that caught our eye was the lacquered buckle slingbacks. They’re available as ballerinas in soft leather and the color options are very elegant. Same tone buckle really makes it an everyday shoe option that sits well with everything.

We’re also considering some great back-to-work pieces as the collection features patent leather Belle Vivier’s, a design launched in 1965 by the house, with a Trompette heel. The black and red pieces have our heart! You can style them with pant suits and all your new season workwear. They are classy and maintain a certain edgy-ness with the heel design and metal buckle. A more sleeker choice with tone-on-tone treatment are the Viv’ in the City pumps. The heel is slimmer, the buckle is in the same tone as the shoe and you get a very modern feel with this design. We can’t think of anything these wouldn’t look great under! Rather they have a quality to uplift some regular outfits too. Breathe new life into your fall looks with the Roger Vivier A/W ‘21 collection that is certainly made for the modern woman who loves to dress up and means business. We’re linking our favourites below for you to view for yourself and shop these beauties before the new season starts. Happy shopping x
