Art Deco has been translated into architecture and design since the 1920’s and it’s effect on footwear isn’t every recent either. Think old Hollywood glam, the Great Gatsby and emphasis on bold lines and color. These all sound OTT and they are! Art deco shoes might not be everyones cup of tea but they are the kind of statement shoes that get you noticed. In our opinion, every fashionista should have a few art deco heels in her arsenal to put on a show every once in a while. We’re sharing some great 2021 options for art deco heels today at the end of the blog so you can be a little extra while still staying relevant!
Let’s start with something simple. The Aquazzura Yes Darling mules caught our eye for their disco ball heels. Yes, there is a small crystal embellished ball at the end of the heel which is the kind of little pick-me-up we all need. The black satin straps elegantly engulf the foot and you look pretty much simple until the eye goes to the shiny ball and bang! That’s where the design wins. Pair this fabulous pair with shorter hemlines and see the magic work.
Animal prints can never be ignored. No matter how you wear them, they take centre stage. Which is why the Amina Muaddi Gilda mules in leopard print calf hair are perfect for when you don’t want to gel in. The red crystal trim adds an extra kick to the leopard print and trust us, when you enter a room wearing these, you will get noticed! Moving on to another design that people have a love-hate relationship with are the Dolce & Gabbana Keira sandals. If you ask us, there’s nothing to hate because the shoes are beyond gorgeous. The ornately decorated heels with the D & G not only look uber glam but people can tell you’re not a plain Jane. We have both of these bestsellers linked below so you can shop an create a furor with your shoe choices this summer! Don’t hold back, ladies.
One shoe we really have a divided opinion over are the Givenchy horn heels. Yes, the heels are actually shaped like horns and even though Bella Hadid modelled for them, we still need a second opinion on these. What do you think about them? Would you give something new and out there a try in the name of fashion? Or would you pass? Participate in our Instagram poll to help us decide!
